Food Court Boss

Food Court Boss is a passion project from a single developer working very hard to get their idea alive. It's all about managing restaurants and food courts in bustling South East Asia.

Story
You got sick and tired of the daily office life, the long commutes through traffic jams, the annoying colleagues and angry bosses, and, with the help of Uncle Tan, decided to start your own Chicken Rice stall in the charming neighbourhood of Taman Rempah.

Start small, grow your wealth
You start by helping Uncle Tan to run his Chicken Rice stall in a food court. Through hard work, that food court, and many others, may one day be yours to own and manage.

Discover recipes, or just buy them
Your hungry patrons want food! And to be able to serve them you must first unlock recipes and cook various dishes, all inspired by South East Asian cuisine. Like Fried Rice, Char Koey Teow, Nasi Lemak and many others. You can unlock recipes simply by trying to cook combinations of ingredients together, learning from seasoned chefs around the world, or outright buying them.

Manage your business
Buy properties and turn them into food courts or restaurants. Decorate your businesses, buy chairs, tables... Chinese lanterns. Customise the restaurants of your dreams. Hire wait staff, cooks, cashiers. You don't have to be a single person army!

Rent stalls in your food courts
Other aspiring chefs will need to start somewhere, just like you! They will rent a tiny space in your food courts to run their stalls. Just like Uncle Tan. And when that happens, you know you made it big, you have become the Food Court Boss.

Modding support
Food Court Boss is being developed with modding support from the start. The game assets, configuration files, sounds, pngs, you name it. Nothing is encrypted, encoded, or hidden away in any way. Modding is as easy as Notepad and Paint.

Localisation
South East Asia is home to many beautiful cultures and languages. With that in mind, the game is being developed to have language support. English is the main language and any other languages can easily be added by both the developer and the community. That's right, language files are open for editing by anyone. All you need is Notepad!

Multiplayer
Food Court Boss is being developed from the start with multiplayer in mind. The dedicated server has only 2 files and can run in any Windows computer. No confusing configuration required, it's as easy as double-click. The only limit to how many players can join is the hardware itself. The game does not limit the number of players in a server.

AI
Nomad Entity is supportive of technological progress and is not against AI in any way. AI was used to gather advise on some coding practises and to help solve certain coding problems. Use of AI constitutes an insignificantly tiny portion of the work that is being put into the game. All creative content is created by the developer.

Info
Nomad Entity has been working on and off on this game for many years. It started as a web browser platformer and has evolved into a custom engine in C++. Still, the game is in very early stage of development. Graphics, sounds, and/or features WILL change in the future. This is a work of love and will continue to be developed for many years to come.
